Theme: Guidance and digital transformation

The conference will take place on Friday, 8th of June, in Paris, lycée Louis le Grand, amphithéâtre Patrice Chéreau.

The digital revolution is rapidly and deeply transforming education, economic organizations and the labor market. It jostles in turn the world of training, confronting the actors in charge of orientation and guidance activities to many issues, which relate more particularly to the question of skills to be developed in a course of training and of educational and professional guidance.

Today, public policies are developing services exploring the expanding possibilities offered by digital technology: for instance, portfolio approaches are conducted at national, European or international level for youth and for adults as well ; on line services are also developing in order to match as close as possible a direct answer to user questioning. At the same time, more and more startups are investing in this field, multiplying their own offer of private services.

Are these answers appropriate ? Sufficient? What tools, attitudes and approaches should be developed to help students in order to clarify their personal and professional goals and build appropriate skills to prepare for expected employment ? In addition, artificial intelligence techniques are continuously developing. They will progressively shift from a soft artificial intelligence whereby machines provide adaptive answers appropriate to defined contexts and/or situation to a real environment of artificial intelligence where machines will provide real analytic and active answers to contexts. These evolutions are also prospective avenues of work for education and training: how can they already at this stage of development help to think about answers taking better into account users’ needs ? For the sake of optimizing public policies ? What paths of progress and evolution are thinkable, as regards the revolution of techniques ?

This meeting will highlight and discuss how these challenges are raised in France and other countries.
